What we eat, reflects from the health of our skin and hair. Ill eating leads to bad health conditions. Bad hygiene or an unhealthy diet leads to hair fall. For healthy growth of hair and clear skin we need to first take care of our diet.

Choosing a healthy diet leads to the healthy growth of hair. Eating the following foods leads to healthy, strong and shiny hair.

  1. Eggs: Best source of protein for hair growth

    As we know our hair is made up of protein. Hair needs protein to grow healthy. So we should include protein-containing food in our diet. Eggs are the best source of protein. It also contains biotin, which boosts hair growth.

    If you are facing hair loss or thinning of hair then maybe a deficiency of biotin is the cause. Eggs contain some ingredients including L-lysine, vitamin D, and certain minerals which may boost the growth of hair.

  2. Oyster

    Zinc is involved in the growth and repair of tissues. It is required by the hair for it to be repaired and for their regrowth. Nature packed zinc in Oysters. Low levels of zinc can cause hair loss, hair damage and thinning.

    Also zinc controls oil glands around the follicles. So they keep functioning properly. We need natural oil-producing glands that produce sebum. Sebum is a natural oil that nourishes hair and keeps them smooth by its conditioning effect.

    It is proven from research that omega-3 is the element which promotes hair growth.They support scalp health; a deficiency can lead to dry scalp and dull hair.

    Olives give conditioning effects to the hair. Not only olive oil is best for hair but olive also for healthy eating. Olives are antioxidants and also contain another important compound called oleocanthal, which has terrific anti-inflammatory properties.

  6. Indian gooseberry(Amla)

    Amla is packed with vitamin C it contains vitamin C, 10 times more than oranges. Vitamin C, an antioxidant, to prevent hair damage and support collagen levels. Amla helps in preventing premature greying of hair.

  7. Banana

    Contain B-6 and silica. Which are thought of as an agent for thickening of hair.

  8. Avocado

    Avocados are too good in taste as well they have some magical effect on hair health too. They contain vitamin E which is an antioxidant like vitamin C. But it helps in reducing oxidative stress by releasing free radicals which causes damage to the hair.

    If you love snacks then instead of eating unhealthy food you should eat walnuts. Walnuts contain omega-3 fatty acids. Walnuts are packed with omega-3 fatty acids and biotin, and Brazil nuts, which are high in selenium. They help in producing sebum too.

    Almonds are rich in magnesium and other nutrients which help in growing hair faster. If you consume almonds daily you will definitely find an effect in your hair strands. Almonds prevent you from premature grey hair. Provide tensile and strength to the hair follicles.

  11. Berries

    Vitamin C helps in absorbing iron. Along with it helps in reducing free radicals that are present in the atmosphere and in the scalp. They damage the scalp and hair follicles.  Berries produce collagen. Collagen helps in strengthening the hair and prevents them from breaking.

  12. Lentils

    Lentils are a source of protein. If you are a vegetarian then you should fill up your diet with lentils. Usually protein is found in chicken and lean beef. Keratin is made up of protein. Keratin is a hard form of protein. We need enough protein to make keratin. For protein intake, lentils are a good replacement for meat.

  13. Guava

    If you are facing hair loss and hair damage then if it is temporary like in pregnancy then guava might help you in giving you back your volume of hair. Just eat it and get your thick hair because they contain vitamin C.
